Mallard Cooke have provided project and cost management services for many of New Zealand's landmark buildings and property developments.

Since 1998, we have built a reputation for delivering major construction projects on-time and on-budget, and a track record of performance that has led to long-term relationships with our clients. Mallard Cooke's role has been vital in achieving a successful outcome in the projects listed below, as well as many others.

 

 

The Asteron Centre is Wellington’s largest stand alone office building with 33,000 sq m of net lettable area. It has 12 floors of office space plus retail shops on the ground floor and two levels of car parking. At the time this project began, the government sector was looking to consolidate existing leases and move to single tenancies, which offered a step up in technology, particularly buildings with Environmentally Sustainable Design.

The Bolton is a 20-storey luxury hotel nestled in a quiet street in the heart of Wellington. It has 142 guest rooms plus a fully equipped gym, heated swimming pool, spa pool, sauna and an in-house restaurant, as well as 10 owner-occupied apartments on the top three floors. Completed in December 2005, the Bolton Hotel has gained several industry awards, including the prestigious Five-Star Qualmark status.

Mallard Cooke’s skills in managing large and complex projects were amply demonstrated in the construction of Defence House - purpose-built as a new headquarters for the Ministry of Defence in Wellington. The L-shaped seven-story office block provides 18,500 square metres of net lettable space plus an underground car park. It was completed in 2006.

Completed in August 2002, the 25-storey HSBC Tower was the first high-rise office building constructed in Wellington for almost a decade. It comprises 12 floors of office space, 10 floors of car parking plus retail on the ground floor. Mallard Cooke was engaged by the developers, Birnie Capital Investors, at the commencement of the project in early 1999 as Client Representative, Project Manager and Cost Manager.

The Vogel Centre is a high-profile office complex in Wellington’s parliamentary precinct designed to provide a ‘campus’ environment for the Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Education and Accident Compensation Corporation. It was completed in August 2011. This seven-year project involved constructing a seven-story office building alongside the existing 1960’s Vogel Building (14 storeys), and connecting both buildings by a six-storey atrium..

The Westpac Stadium is a 34,500 permanent seat capacity multi-sport outdoor stadium developed on vacant rail yard land to the north of Wellington's CBD. Andy Mallard and David Cooke were engaged to provide capital cost estimates, cost planning, value management, cost in use studies, construction cost cash flows, risk management advice, contract documentation advice, procurement management, business plan input and financial reporting.
